Saint Joseph Society President Tom Abisso, Father Jack Izzo, SJ, and Jimmy Martorano. The "Road to Sainthood" series had a strong turnout for their December meeting and Father Jack Izzo, SJ, of San Francisco was in town and gave a talk about the mean- ing of Christmas, the importance of going to confession and Pope Frances. The series is a family-friendly introduc- tion to the saints, including detailed back- grounds of their personal histories and their individual paths to sainthood. The Saint Joseph Society welcomes all to attend and encourages families to sit in on the discussion together to gain a better un- derstanding of the saints we so often see immortalized in statues but seem to know Fr. Bryan Parrish donated a statue of Saint Joseph. The "Road to Sainthood" series is held on the 3 rd Saturday of each month at the St. Joseph Society located at 437 Hanover Street in the North End of Boston. Anthony Petruccelli Senator Anthony Petruccelli once again hosted his annual "Eastie Elves" Christ- mas charity helping to bring the spirit of Christmas to par- ents and children who might not necessarily get a gift under the tree this year. Over 400 people showed up at the Hyatt Logan Hotel in East Boston to celebrate in the spirit of giv- ing. Many appreciate the efforts of Anthony Petruecelli who has become a great voice for both his constituents and for the children who sometime get lost in the season of giving and receiving. Community leaders and numerous elected officials showed up with toys in hand to aid the cause. Everyone always enjoys this annual affair because it is better to give than to receive. Guests enjoyed displays featuring High Jewelry, Vintage and select pieces from the Cartier Archives, including sketches and archival documents relating to two famous and legendary Cartier Creations, the Hope Diamond and The Taylor Burton Diamond.
