Mayor Thomas M. Menino announced the 1 st, 2 nd and 3 ru place winners of the Deck the Windows contest, award- ing bragging rights for a year to Dorchester's Back to Life Chiropractic & Wellness, West Roxbury's Fabutique, and Allston's Stingray. The 2012 holiday season marks the 3 rd annual iteration of this popular event, a store- front decorating competition among 20 Boston Main Street districts with more than 400 small businesses competing. The three-week- , lsg .cpntet b.ega.n on. No- vember 20 th, garnered the attention of over 4,000 vot- ers during the public voting period, through which the winners were determined. Businesses' windows from Dorchester to West Roxbury were enlivened by glittering snowflakes, hanging orna- ments and lit Christmas trees, among other decora- tions, bringing a heightened level of holiday spirit and friendly competition to neigh- borhood shopping districts. "I want to congratulate the winners and all the busi- nesses that participated in this year's Deck the Windows Contest. It is no secret, judg- ing from the thousands of votes cast, that this contest really enlivens our neighbor- hood business districts dur- ing the holiday season," said Mayor Menino. "I want to thank all the business own- ers, our Main Street dis- tricts, voters and our local judges for making this such a success. I also want to re- mind residents to remember that our Main Street Dis- tricts have some of the most unique gifts and dining op- tions in the City of Boston." The Authority is seeking Qualification Statements from Trade Contractors who have a demonstrated experience in the construction and implementation of similar work in terms of scale and complexity. The project includes furnishing all labor, materials, supplies and miscellaneous appurtenances necessary to modify existing fire protection systems and to furnish new fire protection systems in existing and proposed bag screening rooms and associated spaces at Boston Logan International Airport. The value shown below represents that aggregate value of the fire protection work to be accomplished under this contract.
