DeCnstofaro, Register of Probate Run date: 1/23/15 your child typically plays two games per week. Last year there were five teams in this league. It is a coach's pitched league where we teach the fundamentals, good sportsmanship and how to have fun playing baseball. Ages 9-12 play in the Major League. Majors take place Monday through Sat- urday with weekday games starting at 5:30 pm and Sat- urdays 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm. Last year they combined with Hillhouse to form a seven team league. This is a competitive league that still emphasizes learning and fun, but where winning also begins to become part of the equation. If you play in this league you are eligible to play on numerous All-Star teams and leagues. The Ma- jors program runs April through June with a month long clinic happening in April to help all the players get ready for the season. If selected for the All-Star teams you end up playing baseball into August. Ages 13-21 play in the Dodger Program. This is high-level, competitive base- ball designed to prepare your child to play at the high school and college level. The Dodgers play in three leagues; Lou Tompkins All- Stars, RBI (sponsored by the Red Sox) and the BASE League. This is excellent baseball with the emphasis on winning and training players to be the best they can be. In this age group the Dodgers have a 13-15 year old team that plays in RBI, a 15-16 year old team that plays in Tompkins, a 20 and under team that plays in BASE and a 21 and under team that plays in Tomp- kins. There is also an option of having a 13-14 year old team to play in Tompkins if there is enough interest. GLYNN CEO AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Run date: 1/23/15 by Sal Giarratani Stu Miller, RIP Stu Miller played 16 sea- sons for the Giants, Cardi- nals, Phillies and the Orioles which is where I remember him playing as a kid in the '606. He led the N.L. ERA in 1958 and led the N.L. in saves in 1961 and the A.L. in 1963. He was also a mem- ber of the 1966 Baltimore Orioles who took out the Dodgers in four straight. Miller had a National League best 2.47 ERA for the Giants in 1958 and led the league with 17 saves in 1961. He was 105-103 in his career with 154 saves and a 3.24 ERA. He also led the American League with 27 saves in 1963. Hunter Stays In Baltimore Relief pitcher Tommy Hunter agreed to a one-year deal for $4.65 million with the Orioles. He began the 2014 season as the Oriole's closer but lost the job to Zach Britton. Eventually, Hunter regrouped to play an impor- tant role as a late-innings guy for the AL East champs. Spring Training Around Corner Next month, the Red Sox will once again open spring training camp down in Fort Myers, Florida. My cousin Angelo and his wife Mary moved to Florida several years ago and to Ft. Myers where he enjoys see- ing the Red Sox play every spring. * News Brief (Continued from Page 1) Today, France has six mil- lion Muslim immigrants, Germany, perhaps, five mil- lion and Italy has a growing Muslim population as well. There are parts of France today where the growing Muslim ghetto is turning into a nation within a nation and a no-man's land for non-Muslims. By the year 2030, America will have more Muslims than any European nation except for Russia and France. The concern for the future is how radicalized will this unassimilated group become? Those recent French terrorists grew up in Paris suburbs. Will American sub- urbs be incubators for future terrorists as was seen in the recent Paris attacks? I Am Not an Islamophobict I have been pretty clear and direct when it comes to Radical Islam, it is a clear and present danger to America, democracy and all of civilization. However, I do not lump all Muslims to- gether. I do wish that rank and file Muslims not dis- eased by hate would stand up clearly for their faith as it allows others in Islam to kill in the name of Allah. I also remain upset with President Obama who seems unable to call Mus- lims misusing their religion as Radical Islamic jihadists. Even the president of France has said that the country has now been forced into a religious war not of their choosing. We have a president who professes to be a Christian, but clearly is also a student of Islam from his upbringing. He seems in denial about the nature of the battle before us. Why can't he call Radical Islam a religion of hate? They Think it is Time to Raise the Federal Gas Tax Now When it comes to both Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill, the old quote from George Wallace still makes great sense, "There's not a dime's worth of differ- ence between the Republi- cans and Democrats." Look at this apparent rush at bi- partisanship over increas- ing the revenue stream in Washington through higher gas taxes. These cronies all think that the price of "gas at the pump is so cheap, most of us really won't care ff these gas taxes increase. How stupid do Republocrats think we are? Big Deal, the GOP Controls Capitol Hill Lots of Republican activ- ists and conservative talk radio hosts talked about the need for.the Republicans to win the U.S. Senate, Well, it happened, but look at what LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE OF SALE Notice is hereby given by TODISCO TOWING OF 94 CONDOR STREET, EAST BOSTON, MA pursuant to the provisions of Mass G.L. c 255, Section 39A that they will sell the following vehicles. The establishment figures are isolating Tea Party Republi- cans like Ted Cruz to main- tain their own power. Mitt V. Jeb Right now it appears that the Republican establish- ment is looking at either Jeb Bush or Mitt Romney to save the day in 2016. If that is the thinking, then the Democrats are smiling. How many losers will the GOP choose before waking up. If you give voters a choice between a Democrat and a Republican, the Democrats always choose Democrats. Voters gave the Republi- can Party a mandate victory to f'm things not to get along by going along. Voters don't want a bunch of RINOS pour- ing Democrat-lite on them. If it is Jeb or Mitt, get ready for President Hillary. When I Hit "Defrost," I Feel Great A mechanic was working on a "broken" defroster when he found 41 pounds of weed inside the dashboard. The customer brought his 2007 Chevy Trailblazer in for re- pairs that he had purchased at a police auction and had no idea about the stash of drugs inside the dashboard. The original owners were locked up after the cops found 25 pounds of weed hid- den in the gas tank.
