DeCristofaro, Register of Probate Run date: 2/3/12 EXTRA Innings by Sal Giarratani hero. I followed his career daily. Always knew his stats. Knew when he was in a slump and happy to see when he broke out of it. When the Yankees and Red Sox played at Fenway, I rooted for the Sox to win but Mickey to have a good night at the plate. Best game, we win and Mickey hits homers from both sides of the plate which I saw him do first-hand a number of times. Mick always had that Oklahoma smile on his face but we now know that grin was somewhat of a facade for somebody who was troubled by the demons that followed him throughout his baseball career and life. He died much too young at 63 years old seemingly from the abuse he put his body through. It is amazing how great a player he was when you con- sidered the inner workings of The Mick. He was one of the greatest and could have been the greatest player of all time had the pain his LEGAL NOTICE Commonwealth of Massachusetts The Trial Court Middlesex Probate and Family Court 208 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA 02141 Docket No. MI12P0325EA in the Estate of FREDERICK J. This book is a great read for any real baseball fan. Rangers Sign Up Darvish for $60 Million Japan's best pitching ace and the Texas Rangers have come to terms and agreed to a $6 million, 6 year con- tract. Texas will also pay a posting fee of $51.7 million to the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters of Japan's Pacific League. The deal surpasses what Daisuke Matsuzaka got when he left Japan for the Red Sox. Just more than five years ago, Dice-K got a $52 million, 6-year deal and the Red Sox had to pay a $51.1 million posting fee. Moyers Wants to Return Jamie Moyer has agreed to a minor league contract with an invite to Colorado Rockies spring training. The 49-year-old left hander has played 24 seasons thus far and apparently is looking for season number 25. He didn't pitch last season after undergoing surgery. Moyers started with the Chicago Cubs in 1986. He went 9-9 with a 4.84 ERA for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2010, Moyer is 267-204 with an overall 4.24 ERA. Scutaro Traded The Red Sox have traded shortstop Marco Scutaro to the Colorado Rockies for 26- year-old Clayton Mortenen who could end up in the start- ing rotation. The Rockies will now end up with Scutaro's $6 million salary this upcoming season. This would free up cash possibly to go after free agent Roy Oswalt who could be headed for $8 million for 2012. At shortstop, the Sox will now most probably platoon Mike Aviles and Nick Punto. There is a future shortstop- in-waiting named Jose Iglesias. However, he's not ready yet to make the trip up 1-95 from Pawtucket. The 22-year-old needs to get a little more maturation down with the Paw Sox and sharpen up his game.
