POST-GAZEI-rE, FEBRUARY 26, 2016 PAGE 7 zMrs. Murphy... As I See It C o m m u n i t y office are now with Bernie people are taking Sanders. Keep in mind, working ~.=~- ~: a broader view America is already heavily .... ~ ~ on immigration burdened in sharing the wealth, ( ~,( yv( ~ border policies Bernie is'not the solution ... after MS-13 gangs are flooding neighborhoods with crime and killings. After the arrests of 52 individuals recently belonging to the MS-13 gangs, some here illegally, taxpayers are taking a different approach as to whether we should be allowing these teens to cross our borders froyn South America without parents. Another Barack Obama blunder! Jimmy Carter was the pits, but Barack has him beat! Donald Trump has it right, secure our borders and send them back until they come here legally ... Bernie Sander's campaign promises are as off- the-wall as he is. Most of his supporters are teens, kids who have not invested any money in this country yetI (Once they do, their thinking will change). Heard some of Bernie's followers are now tattooing Bernie's glasses and hair on themselves (the latest fad). They should be tattooing his age also. Why? Because Bernie is promising free college education, and universal health care. Is this all political babbling or is he for real? Bernie can't fulfill that promise without raising taxes big time, and once again the working-class will pay the tab, not to speak of bankrupting the country. Sanders is attacking Wall Street and big banks, blaming them for all this country's woes is political garbage. God forbid if Sanders is elected president, citizens can kiss America goodbye[ Sanders is a socialist who preaches communist values. It didn't work for Russia, it certainly won't work here[ Americans can't afford another socialist president. The same groups that voted Barack Obama into A point of interest! Drive by any food bank in Boston or anywhere in Massachusetts and count how many expensive automobiles are parked in these lots belonging to people picking up free groceries! You'd get sick! The really needy people rarely apply ... Jeb Bush is doing so badly in the polls he got his brother George W., former President of the U.S. and his 90-year-old mother, Barbara, to campaign. And, as if Hilary Clinton doesn't have enough baggage, she too, has her husband, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, on board (more baggage and controversial with the ladies) along with daughter, Chelsea. Hasn't this country had enough of the Bushs and Clintons??? ... East Boston neighborhoods are happy that John Nucci, East Boston native and former Boston City Councilor-at-large, was appointed to Massport's Board. Nucci understands the impacts Logan Airport has brought to the people of the community over the years. Residents believe John Nucci is on their side and trust hell do the right thing by them! ... Ticking Eastie offi Residents are sick over the amount of low-income housing being built in their neighborhoods. Maverick Landing (formerly Maverick Housing Projects in the Maverick area), rebuilt by the government into attractive townhouses, has become a hotbed for gang activity and drug dealing. This is what happens when someone has time on their hands without a job. They find easy ways to make tax-free money selling drugs ... Till next time! Front row: Jim and Jan Salvucci, Marjorie Cahn, Dr. Dean Saluti, Back row: Lauren McCarthy and Dr. Jennifer Taylor. On Friday evening, February 19th, the Boston Classical Guitar Society "Artist Series" presented a SoloDuo concert in Boston's Back Bay. The room was packed, as classical music lovers came to hear Matteo Mela and Lorenzo Michel[, world- famous guitarists from Milan, Italy. SoloDuo has performed throughout Europe, Asia, North America, and Latin America in places such as Carnegie Hall, Vienna, and Seoul. The Washing- ton Post has described them as =unforgettable musicians of the highest orderf Lauren MacCarthy, who recently joined the Sons of Italy and its State Culture Commission in order to enjoy more cultural events, served as the liaison for both the Sons of Italy and Cambridge's Dante Alighieri Society for this sellout event. The Italian community appreciates Lauren's hard work. Other Sons of Italy attendees included Dr. Dean Saluti and Marjorie Cahn, Dr. Jenni- fer Taylor, the Pasciuto Family, and Professors World-famous classical guitarists Lorenzo Micheli and Matteo Mela, Milan's "SoloDuo," with Fine and Applied Arts Professor Janice Salvucci. Janice has recently retired as a professor and department chair after many years at Curry College. She has recently joined the Sons of Italy, and has been appointed to the Culture & Historical Commission. Jim and Janice Salvucci. The Dante Alighieri group was led by Lino and Enza Rullo and Sal Bramante. The concert was spectacular! The dual gui- tarists from Milan played exceptional classical pieces, including works by Bach and Beethoven. The audience was given an extra treat prior to the main feature by 20 classical guitarists from the Boston Classical Guitar Orchestra who per- formed an original piece by conductor Matthew Denman. The evening was considered quite a success in many ways. First, the Sons of Italy State Culture Commission introduced Boston's Italians to a breathtaking, unique musical experience. Also, this State Commission piloted what should prove to be a great relationship with the Italian cultural giant, the Dante Alighieri Society. More events to come!
