SAVE THE DATE Send letter to: Pamela Donnaruma, Editor, The Post-Gazette, P.O. Box 130135, Boston, MA 02113 II by Sal Giarratani I cannot believe how fast time goes by. It seems like only yesterday that my sister-in-law Tanya told me that my brother Dominic had passed away in his sleep while visiting his family, includ- ing his sons, down in Austin, Texas. However, that was on March 5, 2007. Dominic was only 56 years old and his unexpected death came as a shock to everyone. He and I were less than three years apart and grew up together with mostly all of the same friends. He was my baby brother but also my friend and ally and we always had each other's backs. When he passed, I felt so all alone. A day doesn't go by that I don't end up thinking about him. Brothers form special bonds. If I was in trouble, he always came to my rescue. When he was in trouble he always knew I'd be there like the cavalry. Often we would talk on the phone for hours debating politics or presidents. He made me look like a liberal. He couldn't believe I was still a Democrat but I always joked that I was a "Reagan Democrat". Here's a photo of my brother Dominic with his wife Tanya from 1996. I miss those talks and our political debates. He always had opinions, as did I. Our best political moment had to be the election of Ronald Reagan in 1980. He lives on inside me and his family. He always did the best he could and I will forever miss him. March of Dimes Team Nice Celia Scalese Seeks Sponsorship for "March for Babies" in Boston Stephanie Scalese, Team Captain for the March of Dimes team Team Nico Celia Scalese, invites you to sponsor their team through this annual national tradi- tion. The Scalese family is honored to support the amazing work the March of Dimes does to ensure that one day all babies will be born full-term and healthy. A MESSAGE FROM STEPHANIE: We first became involved in the March for Babies in 2012 after we lost our son, Nico, on March 5th. He was stillborn at 36 weeks. He looked just like our six year old son, Domenic, and is now our guardian angel. Our ex- periences taught us many things, and showed us what we can do to help ensure other families don't have to go through the same things we did. In support of this incred- ible cause, we are asking you to join us for the 2013 campaign by providing a Family Team Sponsorship. Your tax-deductable dona- tion to the March of Dimes at the $100, $250, $500, $750 or $1,000 level helps our Family Team reach our goals, as well as helping to promote your business lo- cally. Each sponsor will re- ceive an 18" x 24 sign to dis- play along the walk -- with your business name, level of sponsorship, and our Family Team name. It's a great way to support a great cause -- and get some advertising around the community. Your participation sends a clear message that you are strongly committed to a healthy life for all families. The March for Babies in Boston will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2013 with many family and corporate teams coming together for one cause. Please feel free to email me at stephaniescalese@ for information on participating. I- look forward to hearing from you and thank you in advance for your support.
