On Sunday, February 26th, the Italian Consulate in Boston, in collaboration with COMITES and C.A.S.IT, held their 6th annual Carnevale for the children of Italian-American families. The event was held at the Dante Alighieri Society in Cambridge, and was very well-attended by more than 200 people. The children, in their costumes, celebrated this traditional festivity which marks the beginning of Lent. Face painting, storytelling, and live music, allowed the children and their families to spend three hours in great company. In addition, live entertainment with the Boston-based Commedia dell'Arte Troupe PazziLazzi and the southem Italian folk music of the very talented Newpoli allowed everyone to once again get together as a community. Refreshments were generously offered by Green Cross Pharmacy of the North End, Caffe' Paolina of Swampscott, Associazione Gizio, and Club Italia. Five COMITES Members, L-R: Maurizio Pasquale (President}, Dr. Lnciana Burdi (Secretary}, Dott. Giuseppe Giangregorio, Alberto Mustone, and Carmine Guarino.
