I would like to wish all my readers and staff at the Post- Gazette Buona Pasqua! -- Mary DiZazzo-Trumbull Murphy... As I See It Happy Easter everyone. Princes of the church (Cardi- nals) elected a new Pope in time for the Eas- ter holiday that celebrates the Resurrection of Christ. Noticeably missing from Vatican news reports during the selection was Cardinal Bernard Law of Massachu- setts. Instead Cardinal Sean O'Malley was given lots of media coverage. Critics of Law were thankful they didn't have to be reminded of Law's unLAWful role involv- ing the scandals in Massa- chusetts that almost de- stroyed many of the faithful. The new Pope, Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina, known now as Pope Francis I, is a refreshing figure and should be able to reinstate the meaning of the Catholic religion faith. Pope Francis is Latin American, of Italian descent and a great choice. Catholics are optimistic about the church's future with the election of Pope Francis I. Bergoglio, a Jesuit and educator of the people is described as a humble man, riding the subway in Argen- tina to and from his mis- sions. He wanted to be as ac- cessible to his flock as pos- sible ... Be prepared for this Dream Team. Some- thing is not right! What will it take for the government to start controlling gas costs and lower unemployment? ... Speaking of the government, President Obama really knows how to stick it to the American people. Laying off 2,000 TSA border and airport security workers doesn't make much sense to any- one. He's only opening this country up to another 911 tragedy. And releasing hun- dreds of illegal immigrants from our jarls and not deport- ing them back to their coun- dent in 2016. Hope-ing people are feeling the higher taxes to satisfy the government who in turn line their pockets and dole th'e rest out to free loaders via EBT cards, free rent, free transportation and free medi- cal care plus they are entitled to brand name prescriptions. Who lives better than the lazies. Meanwhile we have 45 million people on food stamps (EBT cards). We have 47 million people who con- tribute zero tax dollars to the Federal Government. We are $16 trillion in debt and climb, ing. President Obarrra will not cut spending. The best solution to this night- mare according to Obama is to raise the taxes on the wealthy. He believes this will solve everything. Tax the only group of people that are successful. When you take away people's spirit to work hard and succeed you quickly become a nation in decline, President Obama's plan is working! (Socialist/ Communist country) The point is, the poor are getting richer and the middle-class working people are getting poorer. The facts are we all know more than one or two free loaders. Take note of their hardships. They own cell phones. They eat the best of food FREE! Most have big screen TV's, computers and many drive SUVs (gas guzzlers). All at the taxpay- ers expense. My question is, "why are taxpayers so apa- thetic towards what's hap- pening and growing worse everyday in this country"?
