The only two continuously- operated tent theatres in the round in the United States, the Music Circus and Melody Tent are owned and operated by the South Shore Playhouse Asso- ciates, a not-for-profit organi- zation dedicated to encourag- ing and supporting the arts, cultural and educational orga- nizations throughout the com- munities of the South Shore and Cape Cod. With a colorful history dating back to its humble beginning in 1932 in Cohasset, Massachusetts, one interwoven with the fabric of summer theatre history on the East Coast, our theatres have emerged as popular destina- tions for patrons and perform- ers alike, providing a relaxed ambiance and intimate theatre experience where every seat is within 50 feet of the stage. Diana Krall's career ex- ploded when, "When I Look in Your Eyes" won a Grammy for best jazz vocal and became the first jazz album to be nominated for Album of the Year in 25 years. In 2002, "The Look of Love" was a #I bestseller in the US and a five-time platinum album in Canada. Diana will be appearing at both the Cape Cod Melody Tent and The South Shore Music Circus. His success has crossed over to audiences usually reserved for pop music and his ongoing association with PBS has led to four #1 Jazz Albums, as well as multiple Gold, Platinum & Grammy Awards. Chris' spe- cial connection to the area is his legendary perfor- mance at Symphony Hall in 2008 which has become a PBS special, DVD and CD. Trace Adkins grew up on gospel music and spent some time on an oil rig be- fore he hit the road to dis- cover his country music soul. With a string of top 10 hits in the '90s and 2000s including, "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing," "More," "I'm Tryin," and "Chrome." Trace was in- ducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2003. Trace re- cently put out his new al- bum "Proud To Be Here," with his current hit "Mil- lion Dollar View."
