POST-GAZE'I-rE, APRIL 8, 2016 PAGE 7 Tanglewood 2016 Dolly Parton Joins 2016 Tanglewood Festival Lineup with June l Th Season Opening Performance Country music icon Dolly Parton makes her Tanglewood debut with a season-opening performance Friday, June 17% in the Koussevitzky Music Shed, joining the Tanglewood 2016 Popular Artist line-up. Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Swing Orchestra will also perform in the Shed on Saturday, September 3rd, for "Dancing Under the Stars," a festive, toe-tapping perfor- mance to close out the 2016 season in style. A dance floor will be set up on the lawn for this crowd-pleasing evening of memorable melodies and big band classics. This is the Boston Pops Swing Orches- tra's first-ever performance at Tanglewood. names in the classical music world and beyond, including BSO Music Director Andris Nelsons, Emanuel Ax, Joshua Bell, Yefim Bronfman, Chris- toph von Dohn~nyi, Charles Dutoit, Ren~e Fleming, Paul Lewis, Yo-Yo Ma, Kristine Opolais, Dawn Upshaw, and Yuja Wang featured with the Boston Symphony Orchestra; BSO Music Director Laureate and 2015 Kennedy Center hon- oree Seiji Ozawa returning to Tanglewood for the first time in 10 years; Boston Pops concerts including one with guest artist Seth MacFarlane, with Keith Lockhart conducting, and the ever-popular John Williams' Film Night, featuring both Mr. Lockhart and John Wil- liams on the podium; Ozawa Hall performances by Jordi Savall, Chris Botti, the Chick Corea Trio, Chanticleer, and the Emerson String Quartet; and favorite radio programs A Prairie Home Companion and Wait Wait... It probably was the most snow we saw all winter season and it came in the spring ... Many of you celebrated Easter at a res- taurant. That's why I think this restaurant in Revere deserves the Gold Plate for an outstand- ing brunch that included top- shelf entrees. The Marina at the Wharf Restaurant, located on North Shore Road in Revere, offered an impressive gourmet Easter brunch that included a variety of specialty breakfast items as well as appetizers, rack of lamb, sirloin roast, ham, chicken Bianco, and a variety of pastas, vegetables, salads, breads and endless desserts. Clearly representatives of the PTA said former Mayor Dan Rizzo allocat- ed the money for a playground at the Lincoln School. However, the Child Safety Commission is saying there are far too many trees for a playground on the lot. Children and parents are ex- tremely distraught over the deci- sion... Speaker of the House Bob DeLeo held a reception for Rose Lee Vincent, state representa- tive from Revere, at the VFW in Beachmont on Monday night. Despite the weather, a huge crowd of supporters attended ... Back to the presidential race. A group of political conspirators has formed in the Republican Party, including some media, to keep Donald Trump from winning the nomination, and are trying to sway voters as to whom to vote for. Third World countries use this behavior to put their man in power. We're supposed to be a democracy, this shouldn't be happening in America. Voters should not pay attention to the slanted report- ing some media uses to discredit a candidate! Once upon a time, people took pride in voting, but that's slowly fading away because of all the corruption in politics. We live in a politically correct world where people are allowed to play the race card for opportunity, and honest people can't voice an opinion, because they'll be branded a racist... Till next time!
