During the Patrick years up on Beacon Hill, Bain was por- trayed as something akin to the Evil Empire, especially in 2012 when Mitt Romney ran for president, huh? Of course not to get his hands dirty, Patrick will be helping to de- velop a line of so-called =so- cial impact" investing from climate change to world hunger. CONGRATS GO OUT TO SONNY AND JUDY Vincent "Sonny" Camma- rata and his wife Judith recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. They met at the old Nautical Bowling Alley on Revere Beach and were married on April 10, 1955 at St. Anthony's Church in Everett. Kudos to Sonny, Judy and the entire Cammarata fam- ily on this great occasion. EASTIE ANGRY WITH BOA APPEAL PROCESS East Boston homeowners are not exactly happy with the way the Boston Zoning Board of Appeals have formed a new neighborhood Face- book group, the Angry Bos- ton Board of Abutters (ABBA). This group believes reforms are necessary and that their voices do matter. For further information, you can go to Facebook: (ABBA), Email bostonabutters@yahoo. corn or call 617-380-8425. News Briefs (Cofltinued from Page 1) types for bad-mouthing gov- ernment. But if public trust in government is sinking into a political sewer, this may have something to do with folks inside the Beltway getting filthy rich, not by making a good product or service, but by cashing in on political connections. More and More I Like ... More and more I like NJ Gov. Chris Christie as a presidential candidate. He might not be really strong in a number of primary fights as folks like Cruz or Paul, but Christie has the capacity to expand his voter reach when it comes to a general elec- tion. He isn't a perfect con- servative by any stretch of the imagination, but he can attract voters from the vast moderate middle and enough economic conservatives to pull it off. I see the name Bush like I view the third rail or radioactive material. We have had enough of both the Bushs' and Clintons. On social issues, I am more like Cruz and on tax policy, more like Rand Paul, but I don't see either of them cracking into the vast middle where elections are both won and lost. America Forgets Lincoln Recently, on April 14 th, America should have re- membered the day as the 150 th anniversary of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, but the day went by with this historic event going unnoticed. Kudos to the NY Post for being the only newspaper I saw that didn't forget what happened on April 14, 1865. As a letter writer named Larry Penner opined in the Metro, "No wonder many have no sense of history of our great nation."
