Donato is one of the more generous people in the neighborhood along with many other business own- ers. However, the Taste of the North End has reached many of the neighborhood non-profit agencies for many years. North End Against Drugs has been one of the major benefactors of the money raised at this great neighborhood event for many years. "Donato and the Taste have supported activ- ities and .events for the children of the North End forever," states North End Against Drugs President John Romano. Our group has recently received a $3,000 donation and we are one of several who have been helped by the Taste of the North End both this year and for several years prior. They have donated to The North End Music and Performing Arts Center, North End Ath- letic Association, ABCD North End/West End Service Center, Italian American Sports Hall of Fame Scholar- ship Program this past year just to name a few. Most re- cently the North End Health Center has partnered with the Taste of the North End which is great -- many of the neighborhood residents, es- pecially the elderly count on the affordability of the Health Center and this event helps greatly: This year's Taste of the North End will be held on Friday, May 6 th and will be held at the Steriti Memorial Rink, located at 561Com- mercial Street, North End, Boston. Everyone is invited to at- tend, as the money raised is clearly used to help many, many North Enders -- and most importantly supporting kids programs when money is hard to come by, Romano says. North End Against Drugs Board of Directors will be there to support Donato and the "Taste" in full force. $ VOII no/IIIll $ $1,520 781-286-CASH Per Ounce! 24K We Buy Diamonds, Gold and Silver Jewelrj We Buy Gold and Silver Coins Je o,x 345 Broadway, Revere Serving the Community for 33 Years Hours lO-5:3O pm every day.
