The Long Distance Award was given to Robert Chiota who traveled all the way from Torrance, California to spend the evening with his boyhood friends. Gus Pesaturo then gave a meaningful invocation extolling the values of endur- ing friendships formed in an historic Italian enclave. Father Norbert then blessed our food and all that was followed by a delicious seven course meal catered by Spinelli's of East Boston which included tripe served family style. Donna, who leads the catering staff, did another outstanding job. Over the years she has come to know us as an Italian mother knows her children. Consequently, she manages to feed a mob of hungry men well. Then the reminiscing, handshakes, hugs and kisses continued until the night drew to a close. Upon leaving, each guest was given an umbrella designed by Sam Viscione and Richie Pantalieri with the help of Joe Curreri owner of By Design.
