"Italianissimo," celebrated the third annual gala dinner organized by the Consulate General of Italy, Giuseppe Pastorelli, was held on Saturday, May 31 st at the Burnham Building, formerly Filene's, which is currently undergoing restoration. Pro- ceeds from the gala benefit the "Friends of the Italian Cultural Center in Boston" (FICC Boston) whose mis- sion is to contribute to the development of an Italian cultural center that will serve Boston and the sur- rounding communities. This project has been underway for the past three years and Vin Santosuosso, Joanne & John Balsamo, Sal & Yvonne Balsamo, Lilia P.astorelli, Paula Santosuosso and Consul General Giuseppe Pastorelli. each year Italianissimo has been a great success. With over 350 guests in attendance, the event was orchestrated by professional event planner "Rafanelli." They made a building under construction look unbeliev- able, with long rustic tables featuring herbs that attend- ees could cut up themselves with little scissors and use to season their food. There were also appetizers carts scattered throughout, adding to the whole atmosphere. The evening consisted of a cocktail reception and cuisine by Chef Dante de Magistris. Music and enter- tainment was provided by Matt Marvuglio featuring The Teros String Quartet, Stefano Marchese, and Spajazzy.  There was also a live auction of various select items such as dinner with Mayor Martin J. Walsh, a Grande Belleza rooftop pool party, and a shopping spree at Dolce & Gabanna. This event was a collabo- ration between the City of Boston, the Consulate General if Italy and FICC Boston. The emcees were Jenny Johnson and Jared Bowen and remarks were made by: Consul General Pastorelli, Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Ignazio Marino -- the Mayor of Rome -- and Nicola di Blasio fi-om ENI -- a major integrated energy company --which was the presenting sponsor.
