Dorchester Day Parade Republic Day Reception by Ivanha Paz A reception celebrating Italian National Day took place at the Algonquin Club in Boston hosted by the Consul General of Italy, Giuseppe Pastorelli and his wife, Lilla. "La Festa della Repubblica" is celebrated in Italy on June 2nd and it commemorates the date in 1946 when the Italian population chose its own form of govern- ment, by universal suffrage after World War II. Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Repre- sentatives since 2009 Robert DeLeo was the guest speaker. Entertainment was provided by the Arlington High School Orchestra which is conducted by Sabato (Tino) D'Agostino.
