They come with great sounding names that use words like "final ex- pense" or "funeral." As for me, that is not "a sell- ing point, or the idea that Social Security only provides all of us with a one-time lump sum death benefit of ONLY $255. I got some direct marl from the "fmal expense" plan and I can tell you anytime an insurance company provides you with two boxes to check over and they are for a cremation benefit or death benefit, I pass up on that letter even though the company calls it "a FREE service." (Not Pictured: State Trustee Vincent Buonanno) The Grand Lodge of Massachusetts, Order Sons of Italy in America, held its I01 st Annual State Convention from June 11-14, 2015, at the Resort and Conference Center in Hyannis, Massachusetts. Over 200 del- egates and friends were in attendance as the delegation elected the officers who will represent the organization through 2017, including new State President Antonio Sestito from Hingham, Massachusetts. The Grand Lodge of Massachusetts also gave its biennial awards, the Golden Lion Awards, the highest honor a member of the Sons of Italy in Massachusetts can receive. The two recipients were Delia Bartucca, member of the Norwood Italian Lodge #1235 in Norwood, Massachusetts, and Mario Lucciola, who has been President of his Lodge, the Vittorio Veneto Lodge #1035 in Fall River, Massachusetts, for 28 years. Both of these recipients have demonstrated unflagging commitment to the Order and the (Continued on Page 5) Celebrating the Feast of Saint Anthony by Matt Conti The feast day of Saint Anthony was celebrated Sunday, June 144 . The pro- cession led by devotees marched through the streets of Boston's North End. The statue of the Saint Anthony of Padua left from Saint Leonard Church for an all- day march to the sounds of the North End Marching Band. June 13 4 marks the death of Saint Anthony and is recognized as the Feast of Saint Anthony in the Roman Catholic Church. The Saint Anthony Society honors the popular saint at the famous Saint Anthony's Feast during the last weekend of August.
