Central Square is finally getting the uplift that the late Mayor Thomas reports, plans were held up due to over-budget costs. Massachusetts has one of the worse drug epidemics in America. Since 2015, there's been 150 overdoses in Mas- sachusetts, not including the Greater Boston area. Back in 2000, a program called Drug Abuse Resistance Edu- cation (D.A.R.E.) was intro- duced nationwide and that proved worthless. Unless this country gets back to old-fashioned parenting I'm afraid there is no solution. Drug prevention and educa- tion need to be taught at home and school at a very young age ...
