Each inquiry will receive a return telephone call. 2 nd Annual Saint Pie MASS AND PROCESSION On Sunday, June 24 the 2 nd Annual Saint Pio Proces- sion will take place in Boston's North End. Mass in Italian will be held at St. Leonard Church on Hanover Street, North End, Boston at 10:30 am. Follow- ing the Mass there will be a procession through the streets of the North End with the statue of Saint Pio. All are welcome to attend this wonderful event. Saint Pio (Pius) of Pietrelcina, O.F.M. Cap., (25 May 1887 - 23 Septem-" ber 1968) was a Capuchin Catholic priest from Italy who is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church. He was born Franeeseo Forgione, and given the name Pius (Italian: Pio) when he joined the Capu- chins, thus he was popularly known as Padre Pio. He be- came famous for his bearing the stigmata. On 16 dune 2002, he was canonized by Pope John Paul II. The statue, a gift from Anna D'Amore Sirignano, was shipped from Italy to Boston and remains at St. Leonard Church. Anna D'Amore Sirignano is the organizer of the event along with the help of Natalina Tizzano, Francesco Bruno, Norma Cappuccio, Maria Cueciniello and Carmen Guarino. Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) Outdoor Swimming Pools to Open Saturday Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Boston's Chief of Human Services/Executive Director of BCYF, Daphne Griffin, are pleased to announce that the City of Boston's two out- door swimming pools, the Clougherty Pool in Charles  town and the Mirabella Pool in the North End, will open for the season this Satur- day, the 23 d. These pools will be open every day from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm until Labor Day. BCYF also operates many other pools across the city that are open year round. For a corrplete list, go to www. / bcyf . The new officers of Court Ausonia 781 were installed in a colorful ceremony at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on Sunday, June 10 th. At 3:00 pm six Courts of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas assembled for a large group installation. All looked regal in the robes they wore which were indicative of the office they hold. The newly elected officers are the following: Regent Margurita (Mickey) Farmusa, Vice Regent Peg Capobianca, Treasurer Miehele Morgan, Financial Secre- tary Sona Frissora and Secretary Doris Sennott. The officers were installed under the direction of Rev. Kevin O'Leary, Pastor of the Cathedral and State Regent of the Catholic Daughters, Connie Pagan. Court Ausonia has a long history in the North End. It is one of the oldest Courts of the Catholic Daughter in Massachusetts. The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is the largest Catholic women's organization in the world. Court Ausonia holds monthly meetings.
