Lockhart will be celebrating his 20th year as conductor of the Pops and annual July 44 concert on the Esplanade. For 2015 Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops will be joined by a line-up of per- formers including Broad- way's Michael Cavanaugh; Ainerican Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle; Boston-based quar- tet, The Sons of Serendip; the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps; gospel singer and The Voice contes- tant Michelle Brooks- Thompson; and the USO Show Troupe. Michael Cavanaugh is the new voice of the Ameri- can Rock & Roll Songbook. A charismatic performer, mu- sician and actor, he gained fame for his piano/lead vo- cals in the Broadway musi- cal Movin' Out. Melinda Doolittle be- came a household name on season six of American Idol. The Sons of Serendip is a musical group of four friends who, through a series of ser- endipitous events, came to- gether in graduate school at Boston University. Michelle Brooks-Thomp- son is a Gospel recording art- ist who was born in Boston, MA. The USO Show Troupe is part of an entertainment tradition that goes back more than 70years to its be- ginnings in the muddy camp shows of the South Pacific. Kyle has a book out herself, American Wife, and said she was appalled that Clinton had the audacity to sit and say people in America I ] die every day. Kyle added, "It's almost like the real world ................. doesn't apply to her anymore. It doesn't affect her. She doesn't care ... I Brian Williams Gets Punished Ousted NBC Anchor Brian Williams has : ~ begun an apology tour, but still declines to ...................... say he lied. He now says his ego got the best of him when he told those stories about him- self which were wrong. He should have been fired, but NBC is pun- ishing him, which at least is something. He won't be going back to NBC Nightly News, instead he is headed for MSNBC. You know, the network that nobody watches. The statue of St. Pio was carried from St. Leonard Church after an Italian Mass and walked through the neighborhood streets where devotees pinned donations on ribbons. The procession was accompanied by the North End Marching Band. St. Padre Pio was canon- ized by Pope John Paul II in 2002. Pius of Pietrelcina (1887-1968) was a Capuchin Catholic priest from Italy, born as Francesco Forgione and given the name Pius (Italian: Pio) when he joined the Capuchins, thus known popularly as Padre Pio. He became famous for bearing the stigmata.
