On Thursday, July 12% at 6:00 p.m. at the Prado - Paul Revere Mall on Hanover Street in the North End of Boston, World Famous Magi- cian and the North End's own John Graffeo will put on a presentation and talk to the children and families about magic, becoming a magician and what magic means to him. At the end of the program John will perform a 45 minute mind boggling Magic Show for all ages. The event is free and everyone is wel- come to attend. This event is part of the My Summer in the City Grant Program provided to North End Against Drugs from the Boston Foundation. The workshops, held in different parks onMondays at 6:00 pm with a special 11:00 am session at Spec- tacle Island August 18, are open to people of all ages and skill levels who have a camera. Now in its 16 m year, ParkARTS continues to make the arts accessible throughout Boston's parks with gener- ous support from Bank of America. The Pics in the Parks workshops are led by photography instructor Sarah Berry. Sarah is pursuing a masters of Arts Administration at Boston University, has experience introducing photography to children, teens and adults, and has worked as a photographer in different settings includ- ing an internship with the Smithsonian Institution. Her work is part of collections around Boston and has been shown both locally and internationally. The community is welcome to participate in as many of these free workshops as they would like. All participants are encouraged to submit their images to Park_ARTS to be considered for inclusion in a four-week exhibit presented September 4 to October 9 at Boston City Hall by the Parks Department, with support from the Mayor's Office of Arts, Tourism and Special Events and the City of Boston's Photography Department. The exhibit will highlight the best of participants' photos and the picturesque parks in various Boston neighborhoods.
