I"U51 -qA/-P.. I IP-, JULY B, 201'1 Page 5 Michele McPhee Latest Book Signing at Ecco in East Boston by Sal Giarratani Attorney Anthony Cardinale, Joe Ligotti and Michele McPhee. (Photos by John Harrison) Print journalist, radio personality and author Michele McPhee would be a can- didate for East Boston's Hall of Fame. Don't let the name fool you. Michele McPhee is East Boston Italian thanks to her grandmother's influence on her. She talks "Italian" on her weekday af- ter gig on AM WRKO from lpm until Howie Carr shows up for his drive-time show. More police and firefighters lis- ten to her show religiously. She's also back on the pages of the Boston Herald once again with her hard-hitting commentaries. One of the country's best print crime reporters both here in Boston at the Herald and before that at the NY News, she has now set her sights on an event newer career as a non-fiction writer. Her fourth book has just been released. It is entitled, "The Professor's Rage" concerning the tragic • Extreme Sailing (Continued from Page 1) Local Author John Shea, Michele McPhee and Good Morning America producer Desiree Abib. story of Amy Bishop with its roots in Braintree, Massachusetts. Like her other books, this one too is taken straight off the front pages of newspa- pers across the country. Her writing style is crisp. She writes like a crime reporter covering last night's news but in her non-fiction paperbacks, she has a riveting style that makes one want to finish the book almost immediately. While, we mostly know the outcome, she makes getting there worth the wait. Once again, her book-signing at Ecco Restaurant in East Boston was jam- packed. Folks from around the corner or across the state showed up to just say hi to her, buy her book and comment her on her writing style. McPhee is a people person and her books are easy reads for one and all. The winners in the Boston race. MAYOR MENINO'S Wednesday Night Concerts Disco, classic Motown and country will be on the musical menu as Mayor Menino's Wednesday Night Concerts return to City Hall Plaza. Soul City will rock City Hall Plaza with some of the greatest soul and R&B songs ever written. The fun continues with Disco Night featuring the band Stardust on July 27.
