This event is hosted by the CitiCenter Per- forming Arts Center, and is the culmination of a summer long series of workshops held in various neighborhoods of the city for young people. Kids from the Nazzaro Center in the North End and the ZUMIX program in East Boston will be taking part. NEAD NORTH END FAMILY PRIDE WEEK North End Against Drugs will host North End Family Pride Week August 2 "d to Au- gust 9 th. It will be a week full of activities for all ages. Among the highlights the Emilie Pugliano Neighbor- hood Cruise, National Night Out, AI Natale's Big Band Concert, NEAA 'Very Old Timers Softball Game', the North Adams-North End Friendship Baseball Games, Movie Night, Family Sunday, and moret As always Family Week will open up with a Family Mass at Sacred Heart Church on Sunday August 2 d at 9am. MARIO RUSSO & GERALDINE GIACALONE The North End said goodbye to Mario Russo Wednesday. He was a family man. He was a member of the VFW Post 144, He was a caring man and as Father Claude said at Mario's Funeral Mass at St. Leonard's, "He was a faithful man". I would add a faithful man, who loved his Church. He was a true North Ender. He will be missed by the many who called him a friend. We also said good- bye to Geraldine 'Gerry' Giacalone another beautiful, wonderful, caring person, who lived and volunteered for many, many years in the North End helping kids, espe- cially those involved with the NEAA and North End Indepen- dent Hockey League. Gerry was always there to help. We all loved Gerry. DOM GIAMMARCO OFF, AND BIKING! The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge is a two day bike race, whose goal is to raise money for the Jimmy Fund. Dom Giammarco of the North End is taking part in the August I st, August 2 nd bike race. Dom is a good person, and you wouldn't expect any- thing less from this man of great character, who is help- ing to make the lives of kids better in this special way. When SpongeBob finds that all of the stores in Bikini Bottom are out of square pants, will he take on round pants as a new look? Producers Darren Doane and Josh Karchmer wanted to capture the raw emotion and heartfelt spirit of Michael Jackson's fans as they cel- ebrated his life and music. With an intimate 4-man crew, director Dan Dobi cap- tured all the footage at LA's Staples Center on July 6 and 7. Most of the fans in- terviewed were outside and did not have lottery tickets to enter the memorial ser- vice. In two intense 24-hour runs, the movie was com- pleted and delivered, creat- ing a video "time capsule" of the historic memorial to one of the world's greatest enter- tainment figures. (42 mins.).
