i POST-GAZETTE, JULY 31,2009 Page11 NOW PLAYING UPTOWN & DOWNTOWN GILLETTE STADIUM One Patriot Place, Foxboro, MA 6 TM ANNUAL NEW ENGLAND COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL - August 15, 2009. The New England Country Music Festival is the largest concert series in New England and has sold out Gillette Stadium in each of its five years. For tickets or by phon at 1-866-448-7849. Counting Crows is one of those bands you follow for the long haul. For those that first heard them opening for Bob Dylan long ago, or subbing for Van Morrison one memorable night at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, much of the soundtrack of our times comes from the Crows -- from their vivid musical landscapes as well as the feverish brilliance of singer/songwriter Adam Duritz. Counting Crows hall from the San Francisco Bay area and consist of Adam Duritz (vocals), David Bryson (guitar), Charles Gillingham (keyboards), David Immergluck (guitar), Dan Vickrey (guitar), Jim Bogios (drums), and Millard Powers (bass). Counting Crows success dates back to their 1993 debut release August And Everything After and the hit single "Mr. Jones." The band's most recent success included a # 1 hit with the song "Accidentally In Love," which was featured on the Shrek 2 soundtrack, as well as nominations in 2005 for a Grammy Award, a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award for the track. Check out Music Section for more details. COMCAST CENTER Mansfield, MA COLDPLAY - August 3, 2009 at 8:00PM. Three years ago, John Legend was a highly regarded session musician. Today he's an artist who proves that, even in an age of expedi- ency and crass commercialism, real talent not only still matters but will be acknowledged. When asked how success has affected him, John re- plies, "I think I'm happier, not just because of winning Grammys and selling records, but because it's really fulfilling to have all these things happen with something you love to do. I feel more confident and in- spired, and that's fun. I'm feeling truly creative and I'm hoping that feeling will stay around, because my hope and belief is that most people are down to grow and explore with me."
