REGATTABAR AT THE CHARLES HOTEL, 1 Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA PATRIZIO BUANNE - September 15, 2011 - Patrizio Buanne spent his childhood between his hometown in Naples, Italy and Vienna, Austria. This multi-cultural upbringing sparked an early passion for languages, and by the age of 17 he already spoke fluent Italian, German, English, French and Spanish. After graduation from school he went on to study Slavic languages and today can add fluent Polish to his language tool kit. Patrizio's par- ents would record old vinyl records onto cassettes to play to 3-year-old Patrizio, who would sing along enthu- siastically whilst playing with his toys. At the age of eight, Patrizio received his first guitar which further encouraged his interest in enter- taining. At age eleven, Patrizio had the first of many appearances in a talent contest. With the conviction at such an early age to ultimately become a singer and actor, he ended up winning all the competitions he ever participated in. At 17, a music industry manager heard Patrizio sing and proposed a performance at the occasion of the Papal visit in Wroclaw, Poland. The song, which was half in Italian, half in Polish, had been written for the opening mass. With 85,000 people in attendance, Patrizio's sudden popularity with the Polish public led to his first local record deal. Patrizio's real ambition, how- ever, was to become an international recording artist. His international debut albums, "The Italian" (2006) and "Forever begins tonight" (2007), were finished at Abbey Road Studios in London, accompanied by the Royal Philhar- monic Orchestra. Following interna- tional promotions, Patrizio's albums were certified platinum in South Africa, across Asia, New Zealand and several European countries and even reached triple platinum status in Australia. A live concert DVD, also certified platinum, was televised on the American PBS network, breaking records at PBS stations across the United States. Next was a recording contract with Warner Music in the United States and the recording of Patrizio's third album. Patrizio presented an ex- panded collection of songs from the Italian songbook (now Patrizio's trade- mark repertoire), as well as Patrizio's own contemporary but timeless interpretation of American classics. With some stunning new composi- tions written by Patrizio along- side songwriters such as Dianne Warren, he then released "PATRIZIO." Check out "PATRIZIO" live! Don't miss it.
