Join all 24 Patriots Cheerleaders at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill, located within Patriot Place at Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, Massa- chusetts on Thursday evening, August 15m from 7:00 pm until 9:30 p.m. as they unveil their 2014 swimsuit calendar and brand new uniforms. Fans of all ages can attend, though 21-plus only will be permitted after 10:00 pm. There will not be a parking or entrance fee for the event. Swimsuit calendars will be on sale, with 30 per- cent of each calendar sold is being donated to the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation. The Patriots Cheerleaders will be wear- ing their brand new signa- ture uniforms, designed by Sondra Celli, for the first time. The cheerleaders will be there to meet fans, take photos and sign auto- graphs for fans. The good news is the Boston Re- development Authority (BRA) gave the green light to Com- munity Development Corp. (CDC) and Trinity Finan- cial's plan to build 200 mar- ket-rate units of rental hous- ing at the Border East site on Border Street. Executive Director of CDC., Al Caldarelli said the concept is to build 200 units of housing with 173 at market rate rents and 27 units to meet the City of Boston's ordinance that re- quires 15 percent of the units to be affordable. Caldarelli defined affordable as a per- son or couple must make at least $90,000 a year to afford the rent. The site will have up to 50,000 square feet of open space which will in- clude the Harborwalk and landscaped areas along the waterfront. It sounds like a high end structure and just what East Boston deserves to line their waterfront ... Heard construction of luxury condos has begun on Pier One on Marginal Street. What a view buyers of the condos will haveI!I ... Thou- sands of people made their way to Revere Beach to view the handsomely designed sand sculptures. The beach has been jumping since the Revere Dan Rizzo for mak- ing sure these events went off without incident. Bars and restaurants in Revere also benefitted ... Last week East Boston residents were alerted by public health offi- cials that their city would be sprayed for mosquitoes by the Suffolk County Mosquito Control Project ... What hap- pened to talk of a casino built at Suffolk Downs? Maybe it's not going to happen. Everett appears to be favored over East Boston at this time. Could it be Boston politicians became too greedy? ... Mak- ing the switch from Conley to Connolly for Mayor of Bos- ton. State Rep. Carlo Basile's recent endorsement of John Connolly could be a better choice for East Boston as opposed to District Attorney Dan Conley bid for Mayor. On the casino issue Dan Conley voted to have the entire city of Boston vote for a ca- sino that only East Boston, Revere and Winthrop resi- dents would feel the impact of. I'm with State Rep. Basile on this one. Also Rep. Basile said he liked Connolly's views on education reform ... Eastie's John Nucci, Politi- cal Analyst said the Mayors' race is still up for grabs. He wrote "There is no candidate that is running ahead of are receiving EBT cards. What is wrong with this picture, what is wrong with the system and what is wrong with our politi- cians??? Much of the popu- lation in Massachusetts and across the nation are on Public Assistance. I'm sick of my tax dollars going to support those that don't want to work and commit crimes! People haven't taken a strong stand against EBT cards because most of them are on it[ This country has become a socialist/commu- nist country under the Obama administration and there's more to come. The govern- ment offers no incentives to get people back to work, but plenty for keeping them out of work and lazy ... This country is rockin' and rollin' with race issues. Since Pres- ident Barack Obama took of- fice, it appears that every- thing that is not politically correct becomes an issue of race ... Mayor Tom Menino needs to stay out of the may- oral race and keep his com- ments to himself. Let the voters decide on whom they want to run Boston or is Menino still planning on running Boston through the candidate he will eventually endorse??? ... That's all for now!
