POST-GAZETTE, SEPTEMBER 6, 2013 Page 7 ST. ROSALIE Procession Only- North Square September 8 I pm Taste of Chelsea "The Taste of Chelsea" is a benefit for HarborCOV which provides services to survivors of domestic abuse in Winthrop, Revere, East Boston and Chelsea. Several recent shocking events call our attention to the problem. Domes- tic violence is not limited to any income or education level. Celebrities and famous athletes and their families are not exempt. The need for resources to protect victims is an on- going challenge. HarborCOV offers emergency shelter, coun- seling and other services to thousands of people in our area. Domestic violence is a complex issue that can include mental health, substance abuse, childhood trauma and many other dimensions. Jane Doe Inc., released a Massachusetts report, the "Domestic Violence Homicide List Narratives for 2012" which includes the deaths of perpetrators and by-standers, including police. Last year there were 20 domestic vio- lence deaths in the state. There were 2,337 unduplicated incidents of sexual as- saults reported to rape crisis centers in Massachusetts between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012 Eleven percent (11%) of high school students and six percent (6%) of middle school students reported being physically hurt by a date sometime in their life. Children who are exposed to domestic violence are more likely to exhibit behavioral and physical health problems including depression, anxiety, and violence towards peers. HarborCOV and the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce are proud to sponsor the 10th annual "Taste of Chelsea" which will be held on Monday, September 23rd from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Eastern Salt's new waterfront park area at 99 Marginal Street in Chelsea. Major sponsors include Massport, MGH Center for Community Health Improvement, Chelsea Bank and the Rotary Club of Chelsea. This year there will be more than 30 participating restaurants and other companies including Luberto's Pastry Shop, Margarita's, Olivia's Organics, Kayem Foods, Habanero's Salsa Caliente, Peaches and Cream in Chelsea, Spinelli's in East Boston, Alia/Rustic Table in Winthrop, Kowloon in Saugus, Bobby C's in Melrose, and Chelsea Fire Hot Sauce. You can help support HarborCOV's important work AND have a great evening at the "Taste of Chelsea." The new in- experienced Ambassador tc Japan, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg is reportedly worth five hundred million dollars. Lordy-Lordy what will she do with all that moola??? I have an idea[ Why doesn't Caroline donate some of her wealth to help fund EBT cards and free programs that her deceased uncle Teddy and the Obama administra- tion has fought so hard to increase for the so-called poor, that the democratic party expect the taxpayers to fund. Wouldn't that be a GOOD IDEA! The Kennedy clan believes in helping the poor, (that keep them in office) but not with their money. Remember the Kennedy motto, NOT IN MY BACK YARD!!! ... If we're go- ing to constantly hear about slavery in the South that happened long before our time, then it's time we hear or shorten their last names in order to get employment of any kind! Chelsea Police accused a bus driver of play- ing chicken with another bus driver and that driver cited for reckless driving. The driver behind the wheel of the bus is still driving! Is the MBTA waiting for a tragic accident to pull reckless drivers from behind the wheel? ... This is puzzling! We're being told gas prices are dipping, has anyone seen that yet?
