Page6 ......... POST-GAZETTE, SEPTEMBER 11,2015 f Murphy... As I See It Mayor of Revere Dan Rizzo just }i ' i won the primary election by the skin of his teeth, a little more than a hundred votes over his oppo- nent Brian Arrigo. Heard Rizzo is disappointed and has a lot of rethinking to do, Saturating Revere with new .housing developments, mostly subsidized, hasn't made Revere voters happy. The city is at its peak with illegals, congestion, and traf- tic! According to residents, Revere needs working fami- lies, not dead beats. Hope- fully the dear mayor will pay more attention to his con- stituents' needs and realize he's not royalty. He's just another politician! That is, IF Rizzo wins the November 3rd election! People are sick of the administration and want a Mayor that leads, not one that sings praises of himself! ... The buzz is people who have visited the Seville Project on Border Street and viewed pictures of the condo development are enthused and im- pressed! The project will ri- val any housing develop- ment in East Boston. I be- lieve it's the only new devel- opment (built from the ground up) that isn't a refur- bished building. Everything will be all NEW, and every condo includes underground parking that will be sold to home buyers. A rooftop deck, complete with furnishings overlooking the Boston Har- bor is a highlight of the project. In addition to the amenities, it's a quick walk to the newly:rehabbed Mav- erick Square. A shopping plaza across the street and two new retail stores are ex- pected on the first level of the building. (Rumor has it a Starbucks may be thinking of renting the space). The condos Wilt onsist of one and two bedrooms with deca- dent kitffhens and baths. When finished, it will be one of the most desirable places to live for professionals and families in East Boston! ... Suffolk Downs officially ran their first of three racing days last Saturday. A part of the racing program included Steeple Chase Racing. Visi- tors also had a choice of food trucks to sample their exotic culinary cuisine, making the day an extra special onel ... After decades of trying to save a landmark parish, "The Mount Carmel Church" saga has come to an end. The church and sur- rounding property was sold for $3.05 million. The faith- ful are saddened, but aren't surprised. The Archdiocese of Boston is a business un- der attack due to the bad behavior of priests. Lots of churches had to be sold to pay off claims of misconduct by the very priests they tried to cover up! ... Trump was main event of the evening. Upon arriving at the event, Trump gave a national press conference before entering the party. After Trump gave the audience a moving speech, he moved to the location of Giovanni DeCunto's portrait of Trump. DeCunto passed the tube of paint (which is Giovanni's signature trademark-style of painting) to Trump, and Trump signed with the tube to future enhance the portrait for this historic event. The portrait is now part of Ernie Boch, Jr.'s private collection. There was a windstorm of press from around the world photographing the painting. This painting quickly became a symbol of the evening.
