POST-GAZETTE, OCTOBER 7, 2011 Page7 Italian Heritage Month scholarship award to Livia. "We must stay united and help each other," said Pastorelli. "We must learn that the success of one of us is the success of all of us. What we cannot achieve as individuals, we can achieve as a community. We must stick together and hold to- gether the many Italian and Italian American associa- tions in Massachusetts. That's the best way we can honor what our predecessors did and the Italian Heritage Month." Greetings were also made by State Senator Sal DiDomenico (D-Everett), (Continued from Page I) Judge Joseph Ferrino, re- tired, Stephen Maio, Chair- man of October Italian Heri- tage Month, who read Gov. Deval Patrick's Proclama- tion, and Order Sons of Italy State President James DiStefano. Recently ap- pointed Appeals Court Asso- ciate Justice Peter W. Agnes and Lino Rullo conducted the ceremonies. Musical performances of Verdi's "Va Pensiero" and Giacomo Leopardi's "L'Infin- ito," as well as the Italian and U.S. national anthems, were brought by the Coro Dante, directed by Maestro Kevin Galie. Please Join Us for Our 4th Annual Halloween Party Fundraiser Robert Sorrentino It is a special fundraiser that my human companion is going to attend at the Knights of Columbus on 75 West School St., Charlestown, MA on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 7:00-11:00 PM in loving memory of my beloved friend Robert Sorrentino, who at the age of four lost his battle to cancer. The name of the fundraiser is "Sorrentino Stompers" because Robert loved the characters from Toy Story. A little boy who had so much to offer in life, his memory has never left our hearts nor my heart or mind since the moment he left us. He will always be remembered as a special gift to us. I can't begin to explain the effect this one child has had on me. To try to understand the concept of a small child has to lose his life to this deadly dis- ease. We continue each year to keep his memory alive and to donate all proceeds to the Jimmy Fund. The Jimmy Fund was founded in 1948 and since then has supported the fight against cancer in children and adults at Boston's Dana-Faber Can- cer Institute, helping raise the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world. Your support will help fund cancer research and treatment programs. Anyone that is interested to attend is WELCOME. There will be music, appetizers and an opportunity drawing. Costumes are optional, but encouraged. Tickets will be sold at the door. Your support is greatly appreciated and it is ALL for a good cause. That's all for now! Giving support to others is a wonderful feeling.
