Blood Rose Rising is an at- tention getting new idea in theatrical entertainment. The live-action, supernatu: ral series will keep you com- ing back for more. Each epi- sode is a total entertain- ment experience in itself, between the developing of characters and a story line that progresses from episode to episode to the thrilling finale. It's a full evening out. The production takes place at Naga and contains live music, magic, food, drink, and animated atmosphere. Blood Rose Rising happens Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 5:00 pm at Naga a new addi- tion to Central Square. Three episodes will be show- cased this fall with more to follow in the spring. Created by Ben Evett and co-written by local Boston icon Steve Barkhimer, the show is a romantic ghost story that explores our long- ing for connection with life and control over death, and the mysterious triangle that exists between spirituality, science and illusion. But it's not all darkness and meta- physics. It's an adventure story -- wild, witty, shocking and just plain fun. With Halloween right around the corner, why not combine it with a great display of acting? The three episode production will open with "Futile Attraction" on October 12 th. Episodes are listed in order by story not show dates: "Immaterial Girl", Robert Blackwood, unwilling heir of the Blackwood legacy and the worst teacher at Stillborne Community Col- lege in Cambridge, inherits a ruined Victorian house from his estranged father. As he investigates it, he begins to uncover dark mysteries from his family's past, including a mysterious presence with- a terrible secret. Meanwhile, his girl- friend, the up-and-coming Olivia Barlow, considers a run for the House of Repre- sentatives. (#2) "Heir of Suspicion," Olivia Barlow launches her campaign for the House. At the same time, she becomes increasingly alarmed by Robert's strange behavior, and begins to explore the Blackwood legacy herself, against his will. Meanwhile, Robert must deal with the consequences of his actions, and avoid the prying eyes of the bizarre Mr. and Mrs. Urbeutel and the black- mailer Fog. He searches for answers as he tries to understand who Rose is and how he can be with her. He looks for supernatural guidance and finds it in a most unexpected person. Olivia is increasingly concerned about Robert and when the Urbeutels try to use her to get to Robert, she is tempted. Meanwhile Bud, one of Robert's Still- borne students, becomes jealous of Robert and Sharon, who seem to have developed a VERY close relationship. When Bud's jealousy goes too far, he offers Rose and Robert a frightening opportunity that could change everything, not necessarily for the better.
