"Heard It On the Radio," the debut single, is already making its mark on Radio Disney, trailed by the confident "A Billion Hits," the tongue-in-cheek "Not a Love Song," the magic of "Il- lusion," rockin' the pop beat with "Na Na Na {The Summer Song)" and the anthemic en- ergy of "Double Take." Lynch shows both sides with "It's Me, It's You," the pulsating "Heart Beat," the upbeat "Bet- ter Together" and the excit- able "The Way That You Do." The constructive "Break Down the Walls" is a diagram for life and the show's main title is the rap-flavored "Can't Do It Without You." Hollywood Records' artist R5 is a quin- tet with Ross and his siblings and they perform two bonus tracks, the catchy -- "Crazy 4 U" and the pop gem titled "What Do I Have to Do?". RUSS NOLAN - TELL ME Rhinoceruss -15 Tenor Saxophonist Russ Nolan delivers the goods with his third album "Tell Me" -- containing nine songs to create a musical master- piece. Nolan surrounded him- self with a stellar group of mu- sicians, pianist Art Hirahara, bassist Michael O'Brien, drummer Brian Fishier ant violinist Zach Brock. Th( result, outstanding tracks, as his original "Tell-Me," the smooth swing of "Stolen Moments" taking "Nowhere Man" from the Lennon/ McCartney song-book and tweaking the arrangement for a unique sound, along with a self-penned effort, "Beyond Arbitrary and he takes Stevie Wonder's "Creepin" and gives it a wonderful do-over. Leg- endary keyboardist Joe Zaw- inul provided VA Remark You Made," which Nolan also arranged for wonderful re- suits and the 'lay back and enjoy' strains of Nolan's "View From the Bridge" is pure heaven. Also Nolan-ized superbly is Michael Jackson's hit "Man In the Mirror" and the finale is in the form of Nolan's no-whisper creation, aptly titled "No Secrets." Lots of pleasure[ HIT & RUN - MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK Lakeshore "Hit & Run" stars Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard in an action-packed comedy about a young couple who leave their small town to seek 'the opportunity of a lifetime'. The movie soundtrack is also action-packed with a dozen high-energy tracks, includ- ing several tunes from the 1970's. Temperature rising with, "Fever" (Ishmael Jingo), the soulful "Youql Never Find Another Love Like Me" (Glit- ter Ball), Lou Rawls' smooth "Pure Imagination," the horn- laden "Funky 16 Corners" (The Highlighters)" and the instrumental gem "Waltz of Hate" performed by Bob Mervak & The Motor City Horns. Kool and the Gang maintain the mood via "Sum- mer Madness," plus Mervak & Iz with "You Feel Like Home," the Motown beat of "Let It Whip" (Dazz Band), Bob Dylan contributes "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" and John Martyn wrote and performs "Over the Hill." Allen Tous- saint schedules a stop with "Last Train" from the T0s and Pete Townsend's "Let My Love Open the Door" is the final track. Great tracks! LOOPER - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK Cut Narrative-La-La Land Tristar Pictures' film "Looper" is a futuristic action thriller immersed in time travel and it comes complete with a unique soundtrack. Writer/director Rian John- son utilized the creative tal- ents of cousin Nathan, who manufactured the unusual sounds in such places as a parking garage, utilizing door slams, pitched industrial fans, tuned treadmills, etc., all looping and cycling on themselves at various speeds. The addition of live strings and horns enhanced the sound even further. The result, 26 tracks that sound like drums, yet indecipher- able enough to fall into the category of a soundtrack like no other you've heard before. Starring Bruce Willis, the 'Looper' soundtrck will do a lot more than take you back in time, it will put you in a place your mind has never taken you before -- one of total relaxation via the bizarre drumbeats!
