POST-GAZETTE, OCTOBER 17, 2014 Page 7 Senior S by Sal G~rratani YOU can email your questions to postgazette@aol.com to the- attention of Freeway-. Don't forget folks, Freeway is not a vet, so please keep the questions light-hearted! Thanks. Buddy Mangini, George Gambale, Pamela M. Anderson, Billy Chisholm, Mary Ann Cerundolo, Sheri Rafety, Rosalia Pelralia, Loretta Zullo, Kin Altschul, Felicia Puopolo and Joe Ruggiero Joey B-Bop and Sal Giarratani Once again, seniors from across East Boston met up at Spinelli's Function Room on October 8th for the annual Senior Spaghetti Luncheon. sponsored by the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, East Boston Chamber of Com- merce, East Boston Kiwanis, The Fitton Council and the K of C in honor of this year's Columbus Day Parade hoii- day." Entertainment was pro- vided bv Joey B-Bop and Frankie- Henderson of the "Senior Tones" rock and roll band. The room was packed and everyone had a great pre- Columbus Day time as usual. Pamela M. Anderson uses her middle initial not to be confused with that other Pamela from "Baywatch." I can't believe Halloween is here already, Here are a few tips for my pooch friends. NO TRICKS, NO TREATS: that bowl full of candy is for trick-or-treaters not for us pooches. Chocolate in all forms can be dangerous for dogs and cats and tin foil and cellophane candy wrappers can be hazardous if swal- lowed. A carved pumpkin certainly is festive, but ex- ercise extreme caution if you choose to add a candle. Pets can easily knock a lit pumpkin over and cause a fire. If you dress up your pet, make sure the costume isn't annoying or unsafe. It should not constrict the animal's movement, hear- ing or impede his or her abil- ity to breathe or bark. Keep a lookout for small dangling; or easily chewed-off pieces of the costume that your pet could choke on. All, but the most social dogs and cats, should be" kept in a separate room during peak trick-or- treat visiting hours. Too many strangers can be scary and stressful for pets. ID PLEASE: Always make sure your dog or cat has proper identification. If.for any reason your pet escapes and becomes lost, a collar with tag and/or microchip increase the chances that he or she w~I1 be returned to yOU. To ALL my pooch friends and their companions, stop bv the Post-Gazette, 5 Prince Street, North End, Boston on- Thursday, October 30~h and Friday, October 31st from 10:00 am to 7:00 p.m. and pick up a doggie Halloween treat bag. Costumes encour- aged. To ALL my readers and es- pecially my friends at the Post-Gazette, have a Happy Halloween and keep safe. That's all for now!
