Page 10 POST-GAZETTE, NOVEMBER 7, 2014 Fact reviewing the best NEIL DIAMOND - MELODY ROAD Capitol Records Nell Diamond is new to the Capitol Records label, but his name and his music are not new to the millions of fans who have enjoyed his music for close to five decades. The 73-year-old Diamond continues to have a career many artists would envy, and his easy-to-listen- to music continues to be the foundation for his success. "Melody Road" his •first album of original songs in five years, is believed to have been inspired by his third wife, Korean-born Katie McNeil. Heading out on yet another tour in February 2015 (Boston March 23), Diamond will share "up close and personal" the album's song tracks. Diamond's "Road" is well- trtiveled via a dozen tracks that include, "Melody Road," the upbeat "First Time," trailed by a song that paral- lels his recent romance titled "Seongah and Jimmy," the spirited "Something Blue," the painful !'Nothing But a. Heartache, r and remi nisces with ':In Better Days." Second half happenings be = gin-with the romantic "(OOO) Do I Wanna Be Yours," the encouraging "Alone at the Ball." the praising words of "Sunny Disposition:" the pro- posal "Marry Me Now." the guide of "Love 101," and Dia- mond puts the finishing touches on his masterpiece with a reprise of "Melody Road." Outstanding gem! LADY ANTEBELLUM - 747 Capitol Records Nashville Lady Antebellum is ready to take flight via the 11-song collection of their new album "747." Make no mistake Lady A's fifth album takes listeners back to the sound that made this trio "win- ners." Check out the rock- ing sound of their initial cut, "Long Stretch of Love." drink in the intoxicating hit single "Bartender." the inviting "Lie with Me," cranking it up with the honky-tonk foot stomping "Freestyle," fol- lowed by the fiddling fantasy "Down South." and hits the halfway rr/irk with the questioning, soulful ballad "One Great. Mystery." The beat is on par with the vol- ume for "Sounded Good at the Time." the descriptive "She Is," plus the memorable "Damn You Seventeen,'! tak- ing the title track to new heights with the lyrics of "747," and the not-so-nice realizations of "Just a Girl." Kudos to producer Nathan Chapman who did a great job getting Lady A back on the '.'winning" track! HAERTS Columbia Records New York City's band Haerts has released their self-titled debut album fea- turing le'ad singer Nini Fabi. who played a major role in creating the ten songs for their excellent debut. The remainder of Haerts has Ben Gebert. Garrett Ienner and Derek McWilliams. Must- by bob morello the rest calty the quartet has already enjoyed chart time with their lead single, "Giving Up," along with pop wonders as. "Heart." soaring with "Wings," enjoying the effects of "Hemiplegia," the expla- nation of lost love on ?Call My Name," and hides the pain with "No One Needs to Know." Broken hearts abound with "Lights Out," reaching out for the elusive "Be the One," marking the calendar with time passed on "All the Days," and finally admit to trying to build a relationship on an illusion via "Hope." Songs that per- tain to a series of love gone bad scenarios, and the trials and tribulations of love in today's insecure society! FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE - ANYTHING GOES Republic Nashville Florida Georgia Line is now known as more than just bor- dering States, as Brian Kelly and: Tyler Hubbard have brbught new significance to country music fans •every- where as a duo that recently grabbed the Number One al- bum spot .on. Billboard's 200 chart. A first for this duo whose album title "Anything Goes.." describes their atti- tude to a "T." Trailing the album title track is the. reggae-flavored "Sun Daze." followed by the tasty "Good Good," lowering the decibels for the pensive lead single "Dirt." plus the dazzling "Smile," and fighting off desire with "Sippin' on Fire." The middle of a Georgia field • sets off the spark of "Smoke" where "high" is not the height of the sky, as the party con- tinues with "Bumpin' the Night," singing the praises of "Angel," the solitary moment of "Confession." looking for the cure while in denial on "Like You Ain't Even Gone," and the finale • that satisfies is titled "Every Night!" ST, VINCENT - MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK Sony Classical "St. Vincent" is a comedy,' drama starring Bill MuI'ray, Melissa McCarthy and Naomi Watts. The soundtrack in= eludes classics from the 1960s and 1970s. memo- rable slices as Bob Dylan's "Shelter from the Storm," the first, and the biggest hit from Jefferson Airplane, "Somebody to Love." and Brewer & Sbipley's "One Toke Over the Line." Sand- wiched in between are a pair of Jeff Tweedy tunes, the funky "EverybOdy Hides." and the easy-going "Why Why Why," plus The Webs' "Try Loving Me." "You Da One? from CaShizz Klay featuring Fingazz. and "Stripper Pole" done straight up by Nyzzy Nyce. Bronze Radio Return tunes in with "Further On," followed by The Straight Shot taking one for the team with "Hard to Find." as The National bombard your ears via .."Start a War." and Vechyaslav Samarin has the final say with "Molodaya Luna."
