Just drop this EP into your digital player and enjoy the five-song project, which show- cases the talents of Big Machine Records' group of country artists. Laura Bell Bundy, the newest addition to the Big Machine Records roster, celebrates by delivering the opener titled "Two Step" with the help of Colt Ford. The immensely popular duo, Florida Georgia Line, along with The Cadillac Three's Jaren Johnston, cranking up the decibels with "Party People." There's no time like the present to join Greg Bates on the timely "Go Time," followed by a remix of Thomas Rhett's humor on "Front Porch Junkies," and the final track is courtesy of Greg Bates and his charted single "Did It For The Girl." JAMES BLUNT -- MOON LANDING Atlantic-Custard Records Since exploding on the music scene with hB 2005 hit "You're Beautiful," James Blunt has continued tc enjoy suc- cess musically. His five Grammy nominations aest to the staying power that has led to sales of close to 17 million albums worldwide. Blunt's fourth studio album 'Moon Land- ing' is an out of this world masterpiece that contains a dozen tracks, plus the smash single "Bonfire Heart." The launch is triggered by the lost love of "Face the Sun," the question- ing "Satellites," the pulsating "Heart to Heart," the brief reign of the faux "Miss America," and the much too late realization of "The Only One." Second half happenings soar via the hurt of "Sun on Sunday," the upbeat "Bones" is the story of living life to its fullest, plus the insecurity of "Always Hate Me," wearing his heart on his sleeve with "Post- cards." Blunt's moon expedition lands with "Blue on Blue," and a bonus track, an acoustic version of "Miss America." Excellent album[ LUTHER -- ORIGINAL MUSIC BY PAUL ENGLISHBY Silva Screen Records Composer Paul Englishby has composed the soundtrack music for all three series of 'Luther,' even incorporating pop and rock songs. In addition to Englishby's composition, he also included the lilting "Paradise Circus" by Massive Attack, the pounding "Big Bad Wolf' (The Heavy), Gil Scott-Heron's "Me and the Devil," the pleading "Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down" {Robert Plant), Nina Simone does hLer thing on "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," a big hit in 1965 for The Animals, and Emiliana Torrini fires off the blast titled "Gun." Wrapped around Englishby's works are "She" (Suede), the group Joan As Police Woman contributes "Flash," followed by Marilyn Manson's cover of The Eurythmics' "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)," Hanni E1 Khatib's hand clapping signals the start of "I Got a Thing," with the finishing pieces in the form of "Palaces of Montezuma" (Grinderman), and a bonus track titled "Black Whistler" (Kasabian). An eclectic mix that enhances Englishby's excellent creations! DEANA CARTER -- SOUTHERN WAY OF LIFE Little Nugget Records Deana Carter has enjoyed the success of ten Top 40 singles in a career that hit the 'fast track' in 1997 when she won Country Music Associations award for 'Single of the Year' with her smash hit "Strawberry Wine." Following a self- imposed hiatus, Deana has put together a ten track collec- tion of songs that show her many sides and emotions. The opener is the assertive "You Can't Stay," reflecting on her loss with "Before You Left," hiding her thoughts on "I Know Better," pledging "I'll Save My Love For You," and hits the halfway mark with the uncertainty in "I Don't Want To." The rocky road of love continues with the confidence of "That's Just Me," the anticipation of "Waiting For You to Come Home," the changes in a relationship echo with "I Barely Knew," dealing with the unknown on "Do Or Die," and the finale is the title track "Southern Way of Life." A great mix of songs dealing with the trials and tribulations of life MOBY INNOCENTS Mute After ten studio albums from Moby, one might think they've heard all the scenarios of creativity this artist has to share with fans. Wrong! And, just to prove it, Moby's 11 th studio album shouts individuality from the word go! Moby's unique creations stand alone. Check out his first cut - "Everything That Rises" an instrumental embryo, the convicting "A Case For Shame" with Cold Specks, the surreal "Almost Home" with folkie Damien Jurado," the pensive "Going Wrong," a duet with Flaming Lips member Wayne Coyne on "The Perfect Life," and with Skylar Grey, "The Last Day." Richard Melville Hall a/k/a Moby, pushes the electronic music envelope, continuing with vocalist Inyang Bassey, Moby serves up "Don't Love Me," walking the line of uniqueness with "A Long Time," the wing and a prayer sounding "Saints," trailed by "Tell Me" back with Cold Specks. "The Lonely Night" includes alt-rock legend Mark Lanegan lending a hand, and proving his bark is wors]} than his bite, Moby wraps up his album offering with "TheDog." Producer/frlend Mark "Spike" Stent was able to get Moby to new heights, no surprise as Stent has worked with Madonna, U2, Muse, Bjork, and Massive Attack. Moby's work on 'Innocents' is more than enough to accuse and convict his work of being interesting, and entertaining! CROSSWORD The time has come, the walrus said, TO TALK OF MANY THINGS of shoes and ships and sealing wax of cabbages and kings by Sal Giarratani CASINO BATTLE AT SUFFOLK DOWNS APPEARS OVER Even while the City of Revere and Suffolk Downs officials talk about a new plan for a Revere Suffolk Downs Casino after East Bos- ton voters downed the casino by a 56-44 percent vote, it appears folks trying to do a sequel of the Flight of the Phoenix may be barking up the wrong tree. I understand why Revere officials are grasping for straws but the legislation creating the casino November 5 TM vote clearly states that if one of the two host communities shoots down the idea, the Suffolk Downs casino idea goes kaput. Revere politi- cians are reading the word- ing and seeing what they want to see in it but it is clearly not the case. East Boston elected officials all supported a casino and now are speaking out against a redo by Suffolk Downs and Revere. As Yogi Berra often said, "It ain't over until it's over" and in this case, it is over and out. REVERE HAD A GREAT CULINARY TIME The recent Taste of Revere event held at Casa Lucia on Monday, November 18 th was a great time for all.
